About Murang'a County

Murang'a County is located in the Central region of Kenya, bordered by Nyeri to the North, Kiambu to the South, Nyandarua to the West, and Kirinyaga, Embu, and Machakos to the East. Our three municipalities work together to serve over 1.1 million residents across 2,558.8 km².

The establishment of these municipalities was part of a larger county strategy to improve governance, enhance local service delivery, and foster regional development. Through decentralized urban management, Murang’a is empowering communities and making public services more accessible and efficient.
